2010 KOZAK FOOTBALL CAMP
Held by Taylor Kozak
For the 2nd Year in a row, Local high-school athletes decided to use their spring break for a second year to volunteer and train younger kids and give them pointers about football. This Day Camp is FREE to all of the participants and is made possible through the local businesses and and volunteers. It will benefit 100+ campers.
My son Braden participated and loved it. He had never played flag football before and was now given the opportunity to spend time with experienced and dedicated High School players and learn the basics of the sport.

During a bad economic period, homeowners face difficult times while trying to keep up with mortgage and utility bills and most of the time, will set aside important home improvement projects because of the high cost of materials and labor.
However, Danny Phillips, owner of PKB Reglazing, said there is an easier way to solve many surfacing problems.
“The process of reglazing hard surfaces around the house will save homeowners 70 to 80 percent of the cost of replacing damaged hard surfaces,” he said.
Replacing a scratched sink in the kitchen, a dull fiberglass bathtub, or a yellowed countertop may seem like inconceivable home improvement projects in this tough economy. Often, those items do not need to be replaced; instead they can be saved by the revolution of reglazing. The process of reglazing offers homeowners money-saving alternatives to replacing damaged or broken hard surfaces around the house.
“Homeowners will not only save money, but also time because the reglazing process only takes 2 to 4 hours on average,” said Phillips.
The process of reglazing does not have to stop at the kitchen or bath, it can be done on any surface of the house that has ceramic title, fiberglass, porcelain, cast iron, wood, marble or laminate floors. On top of reglazing, homeowner can also personalize their home by choosing from colors that will fit their style and budget.

Reglazing in Los Angeles - PKB Reglazing Did an Awesome Job!
By Lawrence Davis
I was faced with a dilemma; I own historic Charlie Chaplin cottages in Hollywood and want to keep them in original condition. However I had a kitchen sink that looked horrible. What to do??? What I did was to call Danny Phillips and the professionals at PKB Reglazing. I called Danny Phillips and explained my problem. He had complete knowledge of my problem and arranged for an appointment the very next day. Danny and his very capable technician, Yoankis Torino arrived right on time and analyzed the situation. To them it was no big deal as they have done hundreds of similar projects. Although I had a sink to do, their main business is reglazing bathtubs so the sink was just a smaller version of what they are experts at doing. After getting his tools and supplies, Yoankis went about protecting everything in the kitchen in a very impressive manner. He covered everything in the area with plastic including the stove, cabinets, counters, floor, everything. This was very important to me as over the years, many people in the trades, although they may do a good job, do not take the side effects of their work into consideration. Yoankis then went through the preparation process which is extremely important to make sure the reglazing will last. It took approx. two hours after which time the sink looked brand new! Considering that the sink is almost 90 years old, that’s a pretty good feat. My tenant was so impressed with how white and smooth and clean the sink looked, he jokingly asked if Yoankis could do his teeth. There was a strong smell from the reglazing process which dissipated within a day. We were not able to use the sink for 48 hours, and were not to place objects on the sink for 5-6 days, until the product was completely done curing. After the work I was sent a very thorough set of instructions on how to maintain the sinks.
So my review of Danny Phillips and PKB Reglazing is excellent: Professional, responsible, fine quality product and amazing results! I definitely recommend them.

A little bird told me!
by Linda Cardoso
A little Birdie told me that my friend and neighbor in Sherman Village recently had her old, 50s white bathtub & sink re-glazed in a classy color called “silver cloud”. (The homeowner told me she could have chosen any color from any paint chip.) The cost? Under $400.00 for both appliances! Had she replaced the old tub and sink with new ones, it would have cost her at least $800 plus $3,000 for demolition and installation. Whoa! Instead, for a fraction of the cost and work by a licensed contractor, PBK Kitchen and Glazing sanded, masked, and painted the sink and tub to look like new again…in less than a day! And there’s a 5-year guarantee ! If you want more info, the homeowner said to call or email Danny:
